The bird and the iron chandelier
Last week I was at my mothers house, and she has an African grey parrot named Chester. Chester is an interesting fellow. He often calls me Steve (even though my name is Andy) and likes to yell swear words at me. His cage is enormous. It sits in the corner of my mother’s living room, or should I say, it sits in the other half of my mother’s living room and contains and iron chandelier. While most birds have a couple pieces of wood to stand on, Chester has an iron chandelier. Why my mother has this within her bird cage is beyond me. She tells me that Chester needs something sturdy to stand on. She told me that she found it on the property that she purchased from the city. It was hanging from the ceiling of the red barn and took three people to remove. After thinking about putting it in her bathroom, mother decided that she would use it in Chester’s cage.
